War
against Adult Acne If
you think that acne problems persist only in the puberty and adolescence
stage of a man’s development, well, think again! Even if you passed
through those ages with a flawless and fair face, it does not necessary
mean that you will not experience the distress of acne and pimples! In
some cases, acne occurs during twenties or even in the thirties, and
comparing it to teenager-acne dilemma, it is harder to find the efficient
acne treatment. If
you are now suffering from the adult acne problems, using harsh chemicals
as your acne superhero are not highly recommended. Think twice! Harsh
chemicals might aggregate or worsen the problems. Using these might cause
another problem. In
treating acne, always remember that it has categories in which should be
taken into consideration because the treatment that should be done is
parallel to its category. A
mild acne can be treated by a gentle wash twice a day using a warm water
and soap. It can also be cleansed by benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid
based products. These are usually over-the-counter drugs. These are used
in killing the bacteria on the epidermis. Proper personal hygiene and skin
care is very important. Vitamins may also be required by physicians to
supplement in the treatment. Pimples,
blackheads, white heads manifest moderate acne, and comedones cover
already half of the face. Consult a dermatologist in order to have an
immediate intervention. Acne
becomes severe when pimples and zits become deeper. Inflammation already
occurs. Lesions already appeared cyst-like. This is an alarming category
because scarring will definitely occur. Treatment of acne in this category
seems to be more difficult. One
of the immediate treatments, dermatologists prescribe is, by using oral
antibiotics such as accutane. Other acne treatments include injections of
steroids or corticosteroids. Using steroids, helps melt the cysts. Acne
surgery can also be done. Among
all, the best way that you should do is consult a professional
dermatologist that can help and guide you on what should be done. It is
very important to have the proper treatment and proper information
regarding acne. It is not advised that in treating acne problems,
assumptions or “hearsay” medication should be used. It is also
recommended that you should stick to the instructions and directions of
your physician regarding the medication process. Also, oral medication is
very much dangerous if taken in without proper care. Always remember that
misinformation can lead to more serious problems. Patience
also is a requirement in acne treatment process. The efficiency of the
treatment does not happen overnight. It requires a gradual process to
treat and heal not just the acne but also the scars that acne will leave. Adult acne is very much different from the acne suffered by teenagers; therefore, treatments are also different. If there is one thing similar to adult acne and teenage acne is that they are both distressing and embarrassing. However, physicians say that acne is already a treatable problem. If only medicated immediately and properly, acne will definitely become a history after sometime.
